Sue CarrSue was born in Illinois in 1964 and grew up in the Chicago area. Her family moved to Colorado in 1980 where she finished high school and studied music at Colorado Christian University. She moved to Summit County in 1986 where she worked a number of jobs including housekeeping, piano teaching, choir directing, organist, and church secretary. She was married for 9 years and lived in Breckenridge with her husband John, who passed away in 2001. She was introduced to Buddhist ideas through Christian pastors and in 2002 attended her first Dharma class because she "wanted to hear about Buddhism from a real Buddhist." Soon she was spending her vacation time attending retreats. In November 2004, she received novice ordination from Ringu Tulku Rinpoche. She has had the joy and privilege of teaching introductory Buddhism in Vail and also basic meditation at the Park County Jail. Her spiritual path
can be summarized (so far) in the words of 60's icon Jerry Garcia,
"What a long, strange trip its been!" and she hopes that
others will find their journeys just as weird, wild and wonderful.
