Born in northern Wyoming, Kathy raised her three young sons on a farm until finding her way to Colorado in 1989. After working in private boarding schools for 12 years as a teacher and administrator, in 2002 she became a Montessori preschool teacher and director. In Jan. 2001, after returning from a six month trip to Asia, she was told about a Buddhist Dharma class in Carbondale. Finding the truth she was searching for in the teachings, she committed to the two year shedra classes and resolved to deepen her practice in three year retreat. "Like most women and mothers, I've always believed strongly in the power of love. I take this motivation to learn the true meaning of compassion through exploration of my mind, for only then can any of us be of assistance in this world." |
